Aprehend® Bed Bug Treatment
NYC & Northern NJ

We leave behind a line they can't cross twice. The Bedbug Experts spray a thin barrier of live fungal spores across the routes bed bugs already use, and it keeps killing them for up to three months after we lock the door behind us.

Our Bed Bug Treatment Services

Primary service

Aprehend® Bed Bug Treatment

Our flagship Aprehend service. We map the paths between where bed bugs hide and where they feed, then lay narrow spore barriers along them. Bed bugs pick up the fungus as they travel, carry it home, and spread it through the harborage. One visit protects the room for up to three months.

Best for: active infestations, post-heat clean-up, and quarterly prevention in buildings that keep getting hit.

Know what you're looking at

What a Bed Bug Actually Looks Like

Adults are flat, oval and reddish-brown, about the size of an apple seed. They have no wings, six legs and a broad shield behind the head. After feeding they swell and darken, which is why the same insect can look like two different pests on two different nights.

Young bed bugs are the ones people miss. Nymphs are smaller and close to translucent until they feed, so a serious infestation can be well established before anyone sees something they recognize.

Why Aprehend

Why Aprehend Beats Conventional Bed Bug Spray

Aprehend is a biopesticide built around Beauveria bassiana, a fungus that infects insects. It behaves nothing like the contact sprays most companies still lead with.

Aprehend Keeps Killing Bed Bugs for Months

A conventional spray kills what it lands on and then it's over. Aprehend stays viable on the surface for up to three months, so bugs that hatch after treatment still walk into it.

Bed Bugs Spread Aprehend Through the Colony

Spores hitch a ride on any bug that crosses the barrier and transfer to others back in the harborage, including the ones tucked into cracks no sprayer can reach.

Effective on Pyrethroid-Resistant Bed Bugs

Bed bug populations across the country have grown resistant to pyrethroids. A fungal infection isn't something an insect can develop resistance to the same way, and Aprehend works on resistant strains.

Targeted Barriers, Not Room Fogging

We apply narrow bands at low pressure in targeted spots. Nothing is fogged into the air and nothing is applied to sleeping surfaces you make contact with.

How a job runs

How Our Aprehend Bed Bug Treatment Works

Bed Bug Inspection and Route Mapping

We confirm it's bed bugs, find the harborages, and trace the routes between them and where people sleep or sit. That map is what the Aprehend application is built on. Guessing wastes product and misses bugs.

Aprehend Barrier Application

Narrow bands go down along bed frames, box spring seams, furniture legs, baseboards, and entry points between units. Low pressure, targeted, no fogging. Most rooms take under an hour.

Supporting Bed Bug Treatment

Heavy infestations get more than a barrier. We vacuum out live bugs and eggs, treat voids and seams directly, and fit mattress and box spring encasements so anything left inside can't get out.

Bed Bug Monitoring and Follow-Up

Interceptors and monitors stay in place and we come back to read them. The barrier is still live while we do, so follow-up is about confirming the job worked, not starting over.

Straight answers

Common Bed Bug Treatment Questions

How soon can you come out?

We book inspections seven days a week and can usually get to you within the same week. If you have an infestation in a hotel, a rental turnover, or anywhere a delay costs you money, say so when you call and we will tell you honestly what the soonest realistic slot is.

How long does it take to get rid of bed bugs?

Most straightforward jobs are resolved within three to six weeks. Bites usually stop first, then sightings. The reason it is measured in weeks rather than days is the egg cycle. Eggs laid before treatment hatch afterwards, and they have to walk into the Aprehend barrier before the job is truly finished. Anyone promising same-day eradication is selling you something.

Do I need to treat the whole building?

Not always, but you do need the adjacent units inspected. Bed bugs travel through wall voids, pipe chases and outlet boxes, so treating one apartment while the source sits next door is how people end up paying three times for the same problem. We check neighboring units as part of the inspection and tell you what we find.

Can I stay in my home during and after treatment?

In most cases yes. Aprehend is applied as narrow low-pressure bands rather than fogged into the air, so the disruption is far smaller than with older whole-room methods. Your technician gives you the specific re-entry interval on the day, following the product label. Tell us in advance if anyone in the home is pregnant, immunocompromised, or has a respiratory condition.

How did I get bed bugs in the first place?

Almost always they were carried in. Luggage after a trip, secondhand furniture, a bag set down on an infested seat, a guest, or a neighboring unit. It has nothing to do with how clean your home is. A spotless house is just as vulnerable as a cluttered one, because bed bugs feed on people, not on crumbs.

Will one treatment be enough?

Often, for a single room caught early. Larger or long-running infestations need supporting work such as extraction, direct harborage treatment and encasements, plus follow-up visits. What makes the difference is that the Aprehend barrier stays live between visits for up to three months, so follow-up is about confirming the treatment worked rather than starting the job again.

What is the difference between your two services?

Our Aprehend bed bug treatment is the barrier application itself, the right call for early infestations, prevention, and cleaning up after a heat treatment. Our bed bug removal service wraps that barrier in the full job: inspection, vacuum extraction, harborage treatment, encasements and scheduled follow-ups. The inspection tells us which one you actually need.
